Function and treatment |
Warming the lung, expelling phlegm and relieving qi, dispersing nodules and relieving pain. Used for cough with cold phlegm, painful swelling in the chest, phlegm stagnation in the meridians, numbness and pain in the joints, phlegm-dampness flow, and gangrene and swelling. |
Origin and best harvesting period |
Sinapis Semen is widely distributed in Shanxi Province, northern Shaanxi Loess Plateau and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Gansu Province and other highland areas. Generally sowed in September to October, December to February harvest, for mustard planted in the autumn and spring harvest areas. |
