Origin This product is the dried root of Codonopsis pilosula (Franch.) Nannf. or Codonopsis tangshen Oliv. of the family Platycodonaceae, Codonopsis pilosula Nannf. var. modesta (Nannf.) L. T. Shen or Chuan Dang Shen. The dried root of Codonopsis tangshen Oliv.
Function and treatment Strengthening the spleen and benefiting the lung, nourishing the blood and promoting the production of body fluid. It is used for deficiency of spleen and lung qi, lack of food and tiredness, cough and asthma, deficiency of qi and blood, withered face, palpitations and shortness of breath, thirst with fluid injury, internal heat and thirst.
Origin and best harvesting period Ginseng is mainly produced in Tibet, Sichuan, Yunnan, Qinghai, Guizhou, Gansu, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Henan, Shandong, Shanxi and Northeast China. It is harvested in autumn, washed and dried in the sun.
