Origin The dried fruit of Citrus medica L. var. sarcodactylis Swingle, a citrus plant of the family Rutaceae.
Function and treatment Relieving liver and qi, harmonizing the stomach and relieving pain. It is used to relieve liver and stomach stagnation, distension and pain in the chest and hypochondrium, fullness in the stomach and epigastrium, and vomiting with little food.
Origin and best harvesting period It is distributed in Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangdong, Yunnan, and Sichuan. Cultivated in gardens or orchards. The fruit is picked in autumn when it starts to turn yellow from green and will ripen.
