Origin This product is the dried fruiting body of Ganoderma lucidum (Leyss. ex Fr.) Karst. or Ganoderma sinense Zhao, Xu et Zhang, a fungus of the family Polyporaceae.
Function and treatment Tonifying Qi and calming the mind, relieving cough and asthma. Used for restlessness of the mind, insomnia and palpitation, cough and asthma due to deficiency of the lung, shortage of breath due to deficiency in labour and lack of food and drink.
Origin and best harvesting period Ganoderma lucidum is produced in Europe, America, Africa and eastern Asia. It is commonly distributed in China, but mostly south of the Yangtze River, in the hot and rainy zone south of the Yangtze River, in the following provinces: Anhui, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangdong and Guangxi. Harvested throughout the year, impurities are removed, the lower stalk with rotten wood, sand or substrate is cut off and dried in the shade or at 40-50°C.
