The 2010 edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia states that the herb is to be harvested in spring and autumn. It was found that the polysaccharide and total saponin content of the herb was higher between late September and early November, so it is recommended that the herb be harvested from late September to early November, with the best quality being harvested in October.
