Origin This product is the dried root of Panax quinquefolium L. in the family of the Cinchonaceae.
Function and treatment Tonifying Qi and nourishing Yin, clearing heat and generating body fluid. For deficiency of qi and yin, heat deficiency and tiredness, cough, asthma, phlegm and blood, internal heat and thirst, dry mouth and dry throat.
Origin and best harvesting period Western ginseng is native to North America and is naturally distributed in the forests of the Americas between 30-48°N and 67-95°E, i.e. the eastern part of the USA and the southeastern part of Canada, including Montreal and Quebec in Canada, New York State and Missouri in the USA. The main sources of Western Ginseng in China are Huairou in Beijing, Jilin in Northeast China, Wendeng in Shandong, Liuba in Shaanxi and Muling in Heilongjiang. It is harvested in autumn, washed and dried in the sun or at low temperatures.
