Dioxole is a five-membered unsaturated ring of two oxygen atoms and three carbon atoms. 8-trans-piperamide-c-9-1 is practically insoluble (in water) and an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). 8-trans-piperamide-c-9-1 can be found in pepper (spice), which makes 8-trans-piperamide-c-9-1 a potential biomarker for the consumption of this food product.
