Description Alpha-amorphene, also known as α-amorphene, is a member of the class of compounds known as sesquiterpenoids. Sesquiterpenoids are terpenes with three consecutive isoprene units. Alpha-amorphene can be found in a number of food items such as pepper (spice), peppermint, sweet basil, and sweet bay, which makes alpha-amorphene a potential biomarker for the consumption of these food products.
