Description Constituent of many essential oils including peppermint (Mentha piperita) and Carolina vanilla (Carphephorus odoratissimus). It is used in food flavouring. Geranylacetone is found in many foods, some of which are corn, pepper (c. frutescens), herbs and spices, and watermelon.
